Measuring is an important part a large variety of activities, including computer design. Different systems got created and refined over the years, but not all relying on the same unit standard. However, conversion is possible, and with applications like F2S you can do this for several types of measuring systems.

Design, and portability perks

The application can be used right after download, since it doesn’t take you through a setup process to make its features available. Registry entries are not modified in the process, while it’s also possible to carry the application around on a USB flash drive to use wherever needed.While the main window is crowded with editable fields, there are only a few sections to work with, and no other window to prolong the conversion process. Results are displayed in real time, with all fields of a section being affected. If you want to start from scratch, reset buttons can bring the default value back in either of the system types.

Good, but far from being a pro

Using the reset function comes in handy for viewing conversion ratios, since the target reset unit is always set to 1. Conversion is done between the Metric, and Imperial measuring systems, while mass and weight rely on the Avoirdupois system. Unfortunately, measuring systems are rather shallow, and you’re only able to process length, mass and weight, area, volume, and temperature.Saving values needs to be manually done, and there isn’t at least an option to have values sent to clipboard automatically. What’s more, the range of units is disappointing, only including up to five range units, while some present little to no variety, such as volume, which is only equipped with Liters as the Metric system unit of choice.

In conclusion

All things considered, we can state that F2S gets the job properly done, at least as far as the built-in measuring systems permit. The range of units leaves more to be desired, while saving needs to be done manually every time. On the other hand, it clearly shows conversion ratio for a variety of unit types, and can be used on the go.
