Morse code is a famous form of code that many people know in some form of another, made famous by emergency code SOS. Morse Translator is an application that allows users to write text and have it translated into a series of dots and dashes, that make up Morse code. The program also includes a way to translate Morse code back into text, enabling users to send messages or decode messages in Morse.

An interesting and appealing interface, that unfortunately lacks some essential features

The design of Morse Translator is quite interesting as it displays an attractive look, with clear buttons and impressive graphics for the title and other information. However there are issues, the window cannot be moved and is fixed into the middle of the screen, while it can be minimized it cannot be adjusted or resized in anyway.There is also an issue with the buttons, while they are clearly displayed with an appealing font, the copy button does not work very well. The text windows also do not allow users to copy and paste text directly via traditional hotkeys. It seems like a minor issue at first, but actually drastically limits the functionality of the application.

Some major design flaws that need to be improved before the program can be considered workable

Morse Translator includes some very series issues that can arguably break the application, for instance, in Morse code, a blank space is used often. If users press translate without entering any information, the program calculates an infinite number of blank spaces and can crash the program.Another issue is the lack of editable options translated text, the text windows are poorly configured and they don’t allow users to edit them properly. If you want to select or edit the translated text, or deleted part of it, you simply can't.

A useful idea that does work, yet clearly needs an improved interface and features

All in all, Morse Translator does work fairly well, it can translate text into Morse and Morse into text. The problem is that the interface is not only broken in some areas, it is critically flawed. There are several ways to break Morse Translator without intending too, and the poorly constructed text fields and lack of a workable copy and paste function is a real issue.
