iFreeBudget : Enter and manage various daily, weekly and monthly transactions, expenses, and payments, as well as add recurrent budgets and incomes
iFreeBudget is a feature-rich and accessible application designed to be a practical tool to record different payments, bills, and separate assets, and generate reports, based on specific criteria. In order for the program to work smoothly, Java Runtime Environment needs to be present on the disk.
No installation necessary to run
The offered layout is modern and easy-to-learn divided into a category tree, on the left part of the panel, a record list, on the right, while at the bottom, you can see a more detailed view of the selected record. Plus, iFreeBudget comes with all the essential files in a small folder, which can be copied to an external pen and run on any computer. When the app is started, a login system is displayed, in order to access the functions. If you used the tool before, simply enter the credentials, and log in, however, if its the first time, you have to create a new profile.
Set up your profile and populate it with personal payments
A simple wizard is launched, where you need to choose a fitting username, password (6-12 characters), database location, along with the interface language, and currency. From the menu, you may create a new account or transaction, and import records from OFX and QFX formats. The tree comes with four distinct groups, namely, income, assets, expense, and liability, each containing other relevant categories you can customize. When adding a new transaction, it's possible to select the type (e.g. income, expense, transfer), from and to, amount, date, along with additional notes, and attachments (documents, images). The editor comes with font styles, table, bullet lists, and hyperlinks.
Organize and handle items while searching for particular ones
Based on the mode you picked, the entry is sent to the corresponding group. From the menu, you can add a new budget, by selecting the type, monthly or daily, the accounts (e.g. books, electricity, insurance, Internet, rent), the amounts for each, while the total is calculated automatically by the app.The search bar in the upper part of the panel comes in handy if you need to find an item quickly. Plus, various reports can be generated based on particular criteria, like earnings or cash flow. Unfortunately, the database can't be exported nor backed up.
In conclusion
The bottom line is that iFreeBudget is a reliable and user-friendly program created to provide a professional yet easy way to keep track of transactions, incomes, and expenses while protecting your data from prying eyes.
