PC Based Voltmeter is a tiny and portable piece of software developed to help you seamlessly measure the voltage of your computer through the COM ports. It does not come loaded with comprehensive options or configuration parameters, making it accessible to all types of users.

No installation necessary, aside from .NET Framework

Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the app directory on the hard drive and just click the executable file to launch PC Based Voltmeter. Otherwise, you can copy it to a removable storage unit (like a pen drive) and run it on any PC effortlessly, as long as you have .NET Framework installed.An important aspect worth taking into consideration is that PC Based Voltmeter does not add new entries to the Windows registry or Start menu, thus leaving no traces behind after its removal.

Classical interface with straightforward options

The GUI is represented by a single window with a plain and simple look, where you can immediately dive into the configuration procedure to measure the PC voltage.All you have to do is pick the COM port to connect to, in order to view the graphical representation of the voltage. A web browser is built into the interface so users can access various pages from the developer, but there is no search function integrated.Apart from the fact that you can disconnect from the COM port and switch to another one, there are no other notable options provided by this piece of software.

Evaluation and conclusion

The tool does not put a strain on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and memory. It has a good response time to commands. On the other hand, PC Based Voltmeter popped up numerous error messages during our evaluation when we attempted to connect to a COM port. It seems that PC Based Voltmeter has some major compatibility issues.
