Simple setup and advanced interface

After a fast setup operation that shouldn't impose any difficulties, you are greeted by a large frame with a professional-looking structure, representing SweetLight's interface.It has three separate panes dedicated to fixtures, steps, and the generator. You can add as many fixtures as you want from predefined options, create new ones from scratch, or import them from external files.

Create a lightshow and play it live

The screen with the lightshow design can be easily locked with one click. It's possible to organize the fixtures into different groups, add new scenes, adjust the pan, tilt, RGB and CMY settings, tweak the lighting channels, preview the lightshow, and export the entire configuration to file.SweetLight also features a 3D viewing mode, DMX bar graph, light scene timeline, and screen control module. It supports multiple UI languages and has a good response time to user commands.

Evaluation and conclusion

Everything worked smoothly in our tests, thanks to the fact that the app didn't hang, crash or display error dialogs. It had minimal impact on computer performance, since it needed low CPU and RAM to work properly.Unfortunately, the options that not that intuitive for less experienced users, and the interface could use some improvements in the visual department. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself, especially when taking into account that it's freeware.
