SVN Notifier : Monitor your Subversion project repository for changes using this simple-to-use application that shows systray notifications and lets you customize settings
SVN Notifier is a simple-to-use piece of kit that enables you to monitor your Subversion project repository for changes. It lets you specify a custom time interval for status checking.
Simple setup and systray notifications
After a fast setup operation that shouldn't give you any trouble, you are welcomed by a small panel which lets you specify the full path to the svn.exe and Tortoisepco.exe files.Notifications are shown from the system tray area. You can select the action on double click between opening the SVN folder, showing log details, updating, committing, and status verification.
Configure SVN notification settings
The tray can be hidden after any number of seconds that you specify. What's more, you can ask SVN Notifier to hide to the systray at startup and show itself in the taskbar. It's possible to modify the default time interval for status checking when the form is active and inactive, along with the update delay after the app's startup and Windows resume.
Evaluation and conclusion
We haven't encountered any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the utility didn't freeze, crash or prompt error dialogs. As we expected, its impact on the overall performance of the machine was minimal, since it required low CPU and memory to work properly.Too bad that it hasn't been updated for a long time. Nevertheless, SVN Notifier offers a simple and effective solution to revealing your SVN status, and it can be easily tinkered with.
