However, users often have a hard time keeping track of their devices’ battery levels, and no one wants to have their game interrupted by a dead gamepad.Xbox 360/One Controller Battery Monitor is a relatively simple, open-source utility designed to help you track controller charge levels and provide useful notifications. It is still in the early stages of development, but it can certainly come in handy.
Track the battery status of up to four controllers
You don’t need to install anything before running this program, and it will display all your connected controllers when launched. Obviously, it only works with Xbox 360 and Xbox one gamepads.In the main window, you can see each device’s current charge level and status. Up to four controllers are supported, but it may be difficult to tell the devices apart.
Receive notifications when a controller’s batteries are close to running out
From the Options menu, you can specify when the application should notify you. It can trigger alerts when your device’s charge drops below certain levels, such as medium or low.Additionally, you can control how many notifications will be displayed. The program can alert you every hour, every four hours or only once.
Features an outdated UI and does not let you monitor devices from the system tray
Unfortunately, the application’s user interface is noticeably out-of-date, so we would love to see some improvements in this regard.Also, while the program can be minimized to the system tray, there is no way to track a controller’s battery level without bringing up the main window.Overall, it is clear that Xbox 360/One Controller Battery Monitor still needs some work, as it looks a little rough around the edges. Nevertheless, it can still prove useful for users who need to track their Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller’s charge level.
