Solver "24" was designed as an education tool that can train students for math competitions. The method used by the program relies on flash cards that contain equations, which the user should solve and compare results with the solutions provided by the application.As any other math trainer, Solver "24" uses both simple and complex equations that contain four terms with one or two digits. For each of the equations, users must find a combination of terms and math operators that return a positive integer.You’re better of experimenting with the algorithm yourself rather than reading explanations. Therefore, once you open the application, you should navigate to the menu named ‘Play’, from where you can choose the type of equation you want to practice with.The program contains over 380 flash cards for both single and double-digit equations, between which you can navigate seamlessly. If you want to pick a random flash card, just press the ‘Random Play’ button.For each equation, right down the solutions you think are appropriate, then ask the program to display the answers that are correct and confront the two. If you want to take things to the next level, time yourself using the built-in timer inside the application.There’s also the possibility to create a custom equation, with user-defined terms, which will be solved using the Solver utility. However, the operation might take a while (especially for double-digit terms), so bear with it.All in all, Solver "24" can bring a great deal of benefit to math students and especially to those who are about to enter competitions.
