Family Health Expense Tracker is a small and practical piece of software that comes in handy for you or your family to easily keep an eye on all the medical spendings. You can also add new people, providers and payment methods and manage existing records.

Insert and handle health visits and the amount of money you owe and paid

The installation doesn't take too long, and it needs little effort from your side. The offered layout is plain and easy-to-use and can be used even by those inexperienced in handling expense trackers.The app requires .NET Framework to be installed on the computer in order to work properly. You are prompted right from the start to create a new database. All you have to do is pick a suitable name and a safe location on the drive.

Set up your new database

Sadly, you can't import an existing CSV, TXT or XLS database from the PC, which would've been a great help. You can enter new people and providers directly from the creation panel or from the menu. You just have to type in their name. Those you don't need can be hidden from sight.

Manage each health visit

Adding a new appointment requires a few basic information from your side, such as date of service, treated person, provider (hospital, family doctor, private clinic), description and additional notes. Plus, you have to specify the payment details, like billed, written-off, insurance and the paid amount.

Record additional EOBs and medical payments

The owned value is automatically calculated based on the entered parameters. You have the option to set the service status (waiting for bill or payment) and add additional costs, explanation of benefits (EOB) and transactions.At the bottom of the window, the app displays the total amount of money for billed and owned modes. Sadly, the database can't be exported to a CSV or XLS file.

The bottom line is that Family Health Expense Tracker is an unreliable application that can only be used to store medical visits and payments from different health providers.During our testing, when we tried to archive the database an error popped up. It gives you the options to quit, which closes the app or continue, not allowing you to archive the data.
