BDHero is a muxing tool for Blu-ray discs, enabling you to easily convert Blu-ray movies to MKV files. With a simple interface and automatic Blu-ray disc content detection, this application can extract information about movies and perform video conversion without compromise on playback quality.

Displays information about your Blu-ray disc

If your BD-ROM hosts a Blu-ray disc, BDHero instantly detects it and scans it to gather information about the movie playlists, also displaying the main movie cover based on keywords in the title. For each playlist, it shows the duration, the number of chapters, size on disc, and the video's language. Additional warnings are also displayed if necessary.Aside from the Bly-ray playlists, BDHero also reveals the available video, audio and subtitle tracks. A detailed video overview is shown in a simple table, comprising the used codec, the video resolution, the frame rate, and the aspect ratio. In a similar way, another table presents the audio codec, channel, and language.Right next to the audio and video track tables, BDHero places a complete list of the available movie chapters, each with its name and playback duration. You can select the chapters to include in the output file using the designated checkboxes.

You just have to select the location of the output MKV file and press a button to start. BDHero uses the power of FFmpeg to mux the video.As it processes the Blu-ray video, BDHero displays its progress, the size of the resulting MKV file, as well as the elapsed and remaining time. The output can be quite large (it usually takes a few GB) so make sure you have enough storage space before starting. During our tests, the conversion took a little less than 40 minutes.
