Compare chromosomes and karyotypes
The first thing that you need to do after launching the application is to open a NUC file or to load a picture from your computer. The application allows you to measure the distance between two points and analyze the karyotype asymmetry indices from the loaded image file or a previously saved project.You can create multiple projects easily and save them to your computer for later editing. Use the data box to get details, like measurements on satellite, long or short arm and intercalary satellite.

It comes with a toolbox that allows you to calculate the distance between multiple points, the size and to add a new project. You can also zoom in or out on your project and there's the option to create groups.The scale box lets you adjust some options and pick the metrical and trim size. You can also use the analysis window to analyze your data and create groups. It comes with the option to change the pen and font color and to display grids.All in all, NucType is a nice application for calculating and comparing chromosomes or karyotypes, but it needs more work considering that not all sections are in English.
