SteamFixer’s GUI is something far from complex. It’s comprised from a single and simple main window from where you carry out the entire repair process.To tackle an issue, all you have to do is locate the installation folder for the Steam client using the classic Windows Explorer, and once you’ve set the path, one click on the ‘Fix!’ gets the job done.

An outdated application

The truth is, SteamFixer is half a decade old and since its release it hasn’t been updated or further developed. Steam, on the other hand, has never been left unattended and has evolved considerably over the years. On that note, SteamFixer might not work at all if intend to use it today.Secondly, the application is rather ambiguous in what it does, there is no clear help file with a detailed explanation as to what it actually fixes or on which files it acts when you run it. With that in perspective, you can’t really be sure that SteamFixer won’t actually do more damage.

All-in-all, SteamFixer isn’t a bad tool to have but since its development seems to have come to a standstill, the chances of it working on today’s Steam clients are very slim.
