Disc Image : A driver that can mount ISO CD/DVD images into a Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003 based system while offering support for only a few configuration settings
Disc Image is a very easy-to-use software solution designed to let you mount ISO images with just a few clicks.
Installation tweaks
The configuration process begins from the moment you double click the installer, as you're prompted to choose not only the components to install, including a Tray menu, but also the way you can mount an ISO image. There are two options at your disposal, right-click and double-click, so just pick the one you want and click “Next.”
Simple layout
The interface of the program is quite basic and while other similar applications come with tons of options, Disc Image is different and tries to make everything a bit easier, especially for rookies.
Configuration settings
The main window asks the user for the destination image path and the source device. There are two different settings, namely “Ignore read errors” and “Fail on read errors.”
Where it falls short
As you can see, Disc Image is quite a simple application, but there are downsides too and you may discover them as you start using the program.First of all, Disc Image supports exclusively the ISO format, so no other image formats can be used. Secondly, the application works exclusively on Windows 2000, XP and 2003, so you can't get it work on Windows Vista or 7.On the good side, it works quick and easy and comes with a limited number of configuration options, making everything a breeze for all types of users.
Bottom line
Overall, Disc Image does what it says and doesn't hamper system performance at all. Too bad it doesn't support a wider array of operating systems.
