A closer look at Particle Simulation

Advanced physics is an immensely complicated field of study and particle physics in particular can be especially difficult to understand. Particle Simulation is an application that provides users with a visual add for specific particle experiments. It is especially tailored towards the study of Prime Theory.

A very simple interface for such a complicated set of experiments

The interface for Particle Simulation is exceptionally straightforward, laymen might be surprised to see an interface with so few buttons. The simplicity of the interface does mean that someone with no experience in physics whatsoever could set up the experiment and run it. Understanding the information it presents is significantly harder.Users can select the type of particle with ease, a series of check boxes are presented that allow users to switch between a positron, electron, meson and proton. Users can then start the application, reset it, stop it or change it with the click of only a few buttons. Users looking to repeat the experiment multiple times might appreciate such a clear interface.

An impressive display, but could be improved by a few features

The application is very impressive to watch, it displays a constantly moving granular fluid that represents aspects of the prime theory. Users can observe different particles in it and the effect can be almost hypnotic. The application could use a few features though to improve how this is displayed and how it operates. The ability to speed up or slow down the application would be useful, as well as a report feature. The information that constantly updates as the application runs can only be saved in a screenshot fashion and not with a simple text file or a format easier to study. Ultimately though, this application serves to educate and perform a scientific simulation of advanced particle physics and a few options to make research or study easier would be welcomed.

A straightforward application that manages to make represent a very difficult concept visually

To summarize, the application does show a basic simulation of a some aspects of particle physics, it is slightly limited however with few options to edit or change the experiment parameters. That being said, it is still impressive and those looking to explore particle physics might be interested in what it has to offer.
