A closer look at Noise Generator

If you're a math student and wish to get a visual representation of multiple sinusoidal waveforms and the way they interfere, you can turn to Noise Generator. This is a simple, straightforward desktop tool for Windows, which produces a set of four distinct, random sine waves on each click. The program gets installed quickly, with minimum fuss. If you're encountering startup errors, make sure you have .NET Framework since it cannot work without it.

Generates sinusoidal waveforms

The whole interface is based on a single window that shows an initially empty chart and two pairs of five fields: four values for amplitude and phase, along with the total amplitude and phase resulted from the interference of the four.Although it's technically possible to write text in these boxes, you cannot actually set custom values. Every time you click the "Generate Noise" button, any text in the boxes is automatically ignored and replaced with random values selected by the program.

See how sine waveforms interfere with each other

The chart corresponding to the total amplitude and phase is plotted immediately. The noise and the four sine waves have distinct colors to set them apart easily. To view a new chart, you just have to click the button again.Unfortunately, this is where Noise Generator's functionality ends. Besides the fact that it doesn't implement options for setting custom values, it doesn't have features for saving data to file, printing it, or at least copying it to the table.

Simple sine waveform generator

The program ran smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests. It generates new plots instantly while having insignificant impact on the computer's performance.Taking into account its straightforward functionality, Noise Generator can give you a better idea how sine waveforms interfere with each other based on each one's amplitude and phase. Unfortunately, the tool lacks additional options that would've come in handy.
