Overview
What is Oracle SafetyNet?
Free Oracle backup and export utility
In depth
A closer look at Oracle SafetyNet
A free program that allows small and medium sized shops running Oracle on Windows based servers to automate the process of regularly backing up and exporting data from their database to external files. These files can then be backed up and stored on other media, allowing the company to recover the complete database or individual tables in case of disaster. The program expires every 60 days but is completely free. The backup schedule, location where the files are stored and other information is completely configurable. A shareware version of the SafetyNet program also supports data replication to an Oracle Standby server, automatic notifications when database errors occur, purging of archive log files and other features.
