MININEC Pro : Analyze any type of antenna, provide information about its physical design (e.g. number of wires and elements), as well as calculate and plot the feedpoint impedance for a given frequency
MININEC Pro is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to help you analyze any type of antenna. The tool is able to calculate the feedpoint impedance for a given frequency, along with theoretical efficiency, as well as generate and print plots of radiation patterns.
User interface
The GUI makes use of a multi-tabbed environment for helping you access the main features of the program. Although the layout looks well structured, the program’s dedicated parameters are not highly intuitive.Since you cannot find a help manual in the package, you need to manually experiment with the built-in features in order to understand how it works.
Scientific tools for analyzing antennas
MININEC Pro offers you the possibility to shape up the environment by opting for free space or ground and providing information about the dielectric constant and conductivity.Adding a new element to the database can be done by entering details about the number of pulses, length, position, radius, and height. Data can be saved to ANT file format or printed. What’s more, you can make the application generate details about the impedance, pulse, voltage, phase, and power based on a user-defined frequency. The impedance for a given frequency can also be plotted.MININEC Pro lets you plot radiation patterns with a horizontal or vertical far field, Azimuth or elevation type, and elevation angle. In addition, it creates an output list which includes information about the pulse, x,y and z coordinates, radius, and other details. Text data can be exported to plain text file format.
An overall efficient antenna analyzer
All in all, MININEC Pro hides powerful features under the hood. The dedicated parameters are suitable especially for professionals or users that have background knowledge about antenna setups.
