SEGD Viewer : Lightweight application which enables you to open and view seismic data from SEGD files, as well as save data in popular picture formats
SEGD Viewer is a software tool that can be used in order to open and view seismic data in a SEGD format, and save the retrieved information to your hard drive in picture formats.
Advantaged of being portable
Surprisingly enough, this utility is portable and thus, the installation process is obsolete. You can copy the program files to any external data device (e.g. pen drive), and take it anywhere with you and use it on any PC you can connect to.Another noteworthy piece of information is that SEGD Viewer is not going to add new items or files to the hard drive or Windows registry without your permission, as installers normally do. Moreover, it will leave no traces on your PC after its removal.
Load, configure and save important seismic data
The UI you are greeted by is very simple, and enables you to easily access all the available settings. Version 2 and2.1 of SEGD files can be uploaded to the app only with the help of the built-in file browser, as the “drag and drop” function is not integrated. As a result, both novice and power users can change the file number, sample rate, record length, total traces and clip, use gradient fill and apply low or high cut filter.Resulted items can be saved to the hard drive in several image formats, such as BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG and TIF, or they can be directly sent to the connected printer.
Finally
To sum up, SEGD Viewer is a pretty simple, yet useful piece of software, which does not burden the computer’s performance. It has a good response time, an intuitive environment and our tests did not pick up any errors or crashes. Nonetheless, it is in dire need of an update.
