Edit Me is a simple-to-use text editor that contains a built-in file navigator and some basic customization preferences. Designed for users interested in a straightforward application for creating, modifying and printing text, the program is wrapped in an intuitive interface.Following a speedy setup operation that shouldn't give you any trouble, thanks to the fact that there are no special options involved, you come face to face with a Java-based window, where the file browser is displayed on the left and the editing area on the right.

Create, edit and save text files

You can use the navigator to explore disk directories and click on the files you wish to open. In addition to .txt, Edit Me is capable of reading other types of text-based files, such as .html and .ini.As far as customization preferences are concerned, it's possible to pick different colors for the background and font, along with selected text and selection color. You can also change the default font size and pick a different themes for the interface (there are seven themes available).

Customize the font and colors

Besides printing contents, you can save a file by indicating the name and destination. Unfortunately, the file extension is not automatically set by the program and, if you write the extension next to the name when saving the file, it actually becomes part of the name. To fix this, it's necessary to locate the file in Windows Explorer and rename it to manually set the extension.Additional tools are visible in the graphical interface of Edit Me: URT-8, decorating HTML or CSS code, as well as for finding text. However, these features have not yet been implemented.All aspects considered, Edit Me is far from becoming a top text editor. Nevertheless, it's a work in progress, so there's no way of knowing what next updates will bring.
