NightWolf Notepad : Take notes, or develop projects involving text, including HTML, or PHP in an intuitive environment with support for TXT, and RTF on import and export
Writing on a computer is one of the first activities which was popular when it first sprung to life. This activity evolved throughout the years, and can be used to simply take notes, or even hold the source code behind the well-functioning of websites and programs. As such, NightWolf Notepad wants to be both, allowing you to work in an intuitive environment.
Simple visuals make it easy to use
The application doesn’t take time to get deployed on your system. However, the computer you use it on needs to be fitted with .NET Framework, even though it’s a default feature in modern Windows iterations. As far as the visual design is concerned, there’s little difference between Notepad and what you get to use here. On the one hand, this makes accommodation a walk in the park, since you can start writing right away. On the other hand, little variety is provided, and you’re only able to perform basic text editing operations.
Light support for HTML and PHP
Tab support isn’t implemented, but this can easily be bypassed by running multiple instances. A save prompt shows up on exist, so you don’t accidentally lose all your work. File support isn’t abundant, with the only import and export options being TXT, and RTF. Needless to say that most font options get discarded when saving as TXT.Customization options are rather shallow, but allow for some degree of variety. Apart from text, which can be customized for the whole document at once, or selected string, there’s the possibility to also change the background color of the pad itself. What slightly differentiates it from Notepad is the set of insert options. For starters, date and time can be quickly added at the cursor location. Moreover, several HTML, and PHP tags can be found in dedicated fields, letting you write source code for this type of projects.
In conclusion
All things considered, we can safely state that NightWolf Notepad comes with a rather poor set of additional features than what you’re already familiar with from Windows default text editors. Customization options let you change background, and text attributes, while insert options skip you some effort when writing HTML, and PHP code.
