Task Manager : Microsoft Excel spreadsheet developed to simplify task management, featuring graphical timelines, progress tracking and dependency identification
Task Manager is a small software application developed specifically for helping you check out a list with all running processes and kill the selected ones using straightforward actions. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.
Clean layout
After a fast and simple installation process where you only need to press on a few ‘Next’ buttons in order to complete the task, you are welcomed by a minimalist design. A help manual is not included in the package, but you can set up the dedicated parameters on your own because they look very easy to handle.
How it works
Task Manager offers you the possibility to view a list with all running processes. The application does not offer detailed information about each process, only the filename. Plus, you are allowed to terminate running processes by double-clicking on the selected ones.Tests have pointed out that the program carries out a task quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the system is not hampered. On the downside, there’s no support for advanced features. Professional users may be disappointed by the program’s poor support for configuration settings. You are not allowed to perform searches to quickly identify a process in the list, refresh the current information with just one click, automatically refresh the list with processes, check out detailed information about each utility (e.g. start time, ID, and path), gather data about your usage statistics (CPU, disk activity, memory usage, and size), set up process priorities, restart processes, and enable or disable startup items, just to highlight some options.
Final remarks
To sum things up, Task Manager has to offer nothing more than a simplistic software solution for helping you manage running processes, and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
