NotPad is a feature-rich and approachable application designed to offer a simple and smooth way to write and format text files. Since installation is not a requirement, you can copy the archive or all the core files to a USB flash drive and run it on any computer effortlessly. Since it's portable, the app doesn't create new entries in the Windows registry or other parts of the hard disk, leaving no traces behind after deletion. When the app is run, a configuration panel is displayed, which can be disabled from the menu, where you can select what file formats should the tool be associated with, such as TXT, INI, BAT, INF or CMD, and enable other additional settings.In order to create a new record just start typing or open an existing one from the PC. Plus, if you want to print the document after finishing it, you can configure the page properties to get the best results.  It would've been a good addition, if the tool let you view the most recent accessed documents, making it easier to re-open them in the future.

The app provides basic edit functions (e.g. cut, copy, paste, undo, redo) which you can use to enter text from another source and go back to the previous composition if you're not happy with the output. The program provides an option to wrap the content to the window, enable or disable the drag-and-drop function, as well as toggle the pad in full screen. For the speech option, you need to install a separate plugin and follow some important steps, which can be found in the help file.It offers a variety of elements for customizing phrases, such as font types, style, colors and sizes. It's possible to convert specific letters and sentences to lowercase or uppercase, insert the date and time, and enable the spellchecker. The status menu bar and toolbar can be hidden for a less cluttered layout.
