Klumbu Word is a text editor whose purpose is to help you edit documents or create brand-new ones. It comes with several features that can be found in similar Office tools, so you may insert tables, images, bookmarks and symbols, as well as cut, copy or delete text messages.

User-friendly layout and Garden environment

Klumbu Word adopts a ribbon-like interface which reminds of Microsoft Word’s layout. The GUI is intuitive and familiar so getting used to working with it shouldn’t take you too much time.The File panel gives you quick access to a Metro-like interface and this is the place where you can perform several general actions, such as create or open documents, save data, print files, and export text. It is also called the ‘Garden’ and reveals a custom image in the background (the one that you have added during the setup wizard).An additional set of features is embedded in the Garden. You can manage your audio files in the PlayIt Music panel, play or stop the current audio selection, go to the previous or next song, seek for a position in the audio stream, mute the sound, and shuffle the items. Furthermore, you can make the application delete backups every week or month and display notifications so you can remember to save data at a custom time.

Importing/exporting options and editing capabilities

Klumbu Word gives you the possibility to import and export data from and to RTF, TXT, HTML, MHT, DOCX, ODT, XML, EPUB or DOC file format.Editing features allow you to alter the text in terms of font, size, alignment and color, search and replace text, as well as insert pictures, bookmarks, hyperlinks, header and footer, text box and special symbols.Other options worth being mentioned allow you to perform searches on Google, Yahoo!, YouTube and other engines via your browser, change the page layout (margins, orientation, size, columns, breaks, line numbers and background color), activate the spell checking function, set up editing permissions, switch to a full screen mode, and undo or redo your actions.

All in all, Klumbu Word delivers an intuitive environment for helping you draft and edit your documents. It can be used as a great starting point for first-time Office users before switching to advanced software. There’s also a portable version of the utility in case you want to skip the installation steps.On the downside, we have experienced several bugs while working with the app (e.g. it needs extra time to open, when you move the main window across the screen all the program’s features disappear). You should know that the tool eats up a moderate amount of CPU and memory resources.
