The computer nowadays can store countless amounts of data, and is the primary source of info. This can come under the form of audio, video, image, and text files. Chances are you need to extract some text from a recorded session, and with the help of specialized applications like VoiceScribe, this also gets enhanced through highlighting. Setup takes a little while, and you’re able to take the application for a spin before you realize. Since it’s dedicated to transcription tasks, one of the main resources here is the source audio file, which can either be under the FLAC or WAV format. All extracted text is saved under a plain TXT file, with the possibility to load existing ones, and keep multiple documents active at a time. The audio player is fitted with basic playback controls so you can start, pause, and stop the session. A progress slider lets you snoop through content, while current time is shown in a status panel. Additionally, you can use the walk feature to configure automatic repetition of particular sections, but it can take a while to get it right.
