In depth
A closer look at TxtReplace
TxtReplace is a tool that can find and replace keywords in multiple text documents at the same time. It offers support only for .txt format and can be accessed from a Command Prompt window. The syntax is TxtReplace.exe path find replace [/s] [/u] [/? | /h]], where /? or /h can be used to review the usage. If you want to replace a keyword from a single document, then you can type TxtReplace.exe filename.txt old_keyword new_keyword. If the file is not in the same directory as the program, make sure to write its path too. To perform this operation on multiple files, then make sure to put them all inside one folder, then type TxtReplace.exe folder_path old_keyword new_keyword. Also, wildcard characters can be specified for the path or file. All string matches will be replaced, and files with any other extension than .txt will be ignored by the application, so no errors can occur because of this.
