It can store both text and images and most modern devices are capable of processing it. However, if you prefer using good old fashioned ebook reader formats, you can easily convert them from PDF with utilities like PdfMasher. All you need to work with is stored in a simple main window, with little and vague visual representation of documents you load. These need to be imported only through the built-in open dialog, since drag and drop is not supported. You need to make sure target PDF files only contain text because any image found in content is disregarded. This determines the layout in the resulting file.
