In depth
A closer look at UNetbootin Portable
UNetbootin Portable It provides support for the most popular distributions and various versions for each of them (Linux, CentOS, Debian, Fedora, FreeBSD, Ubuntu, Kubuntu and more). Additionally, you can use it to store the distributions on a hard disk partition (creating so-called 'frugal installs', where all the files on the ISO image are booted from the hard drive, rather than a removable device). You can select one of the predefined options for installing an operating system or provide a locally stored ISO image file or floppy disk containing the setup files, in case your preferred distribution cannot be found in the drop-down list. The latter option is designed to allow the bootable disk creation even if the host computer is not connected to the Internet.
