In depth
A closer look at FindALL.xls
This Excel spreadsheet searches/finds/locates links or anything in all open workbooks. The advantage of this workbook is that it searches all sheets and all range names of all open workbook at one time. It then places all of the results on its 'Output' sheet for viewing. The results of the search give you the cell formula so you can directly see any problem cells or range names. The output consists of the workbook name, sheet name, cell address, range name if applicable and cell formula or RefersTo formula. You may have a workbook with one bad link, but many other links. You don't need to cycle through all of the links to get to the bad link. You can simply scan down the 'Output' sheet and quickly determine which cell or range name is bad. I show you the cell formula or range name RefersTo in order to help you do this scan. I use '.xls' to search for links, but you can change this to anything. The VBA code for this workbook is not locked, so you can view it.This program was created in Excel 2000.Please see my other programs on Winsite as well.
