In depth
A closer look at Active Directory Query
Active Directory Query As an administrator, you are able to view and interact with various menus, namely users, contacts, computers, groups, printers, shares, group policies, deleted objects, recently created objects and custom, which is a category that displays the objects specified by the LDAP filter. You should bear in mind that even though you have various administrative functions, some of the operations you can perform are limited by default. You can read more details about it in the detailed documentation available in the Help section. Performing a query is a three-step process that entails selecting the Active Directory Domain from the dedicated pull-down menu. The second step implies you choose the type of object that you need to query, which can be users, computers, groups, policies, so on and so forth. If necessary, you can toggle the sub-OU searches. The last step is to select the Query Object Type button or just hit Enter from the keyboard.
