A closer look at X-GnuCash
Designed as a portable counterpart of GnuCash, X-GnuCash is a Windows application that you can use to administer financial information in a user-friendly and secure environment. You can use it to keep track of your income and expenses, among others. As there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files anywhere on the disk and just click the executable to launch X-GnuCash. Otherwise, you can save it to a pen drive to run it on any PC with minimum effort. It doesn't modify Windows registry settings. The GUI is not particularly attractive but it's easy to navigate, allowing you to create as many accounts as you want of different categories, such as childcare expenses, investments, fixed assets, or spouse income.
