In depth

A closer look at MorsePlay

Morse code is one of the oldest forms of electronic communication and is still used today in some formats, made especially famous by the Morse code distress signal SOS. MorsePlay is a program that allows users to convert text to Morse code, as well as hear the Morse code being played. There is no design elements of MorsePlay that are decoration, the program operates in a basic window that is functional only and extremely spartan. The application is divided in three areas in the same window, an area to enter text, the text output area, as well as a visual representation of the actual Morse code dots and dashes. Using MorsePlay is as simple as typing in the text field, or loading a text file into the program, then selecting the Go button. The application will then proceed to display the Morse code translation of the message while playing the sound for each part.
