In depth
A closer look at AudioIndex
Deciding to keep your entire collection of music on your computer might give you a hard time identifying songs of interest, or even locations. As such, you can rely on specialized applications like AudioIndex in order to create a list of songs from a specific location, index them, and even generate browsable reports. You start off in the main menu, which makes it clear from the beginning what tools you can use, and how these help you organize your music collection. Don’t worry though, files you scan and add to the list are not modified, but only indexed for quick identification. You can access the options menu to define behavior and order of indexing for more comfort. Music files you want to index don’t necessarily have to be on your computer, and it’s also possible to scan a specific folder, or a removable storage device. The index is build pretty fast, and you need to save the new database. Note, however, that you might run into some minor issues if tags are not properly defined, and you can only work with MP3 files.
