A closer look at GTG DPC
Making music on a computer is now an enjoyable activity, especially because of all the computer programs which can almost entirely replace actual instruments. To help out, GTG DPC comes as a lightweight VST plugin which provides drum support with options to load different tracks for each drum items. Since it’s merely a VST plugin it doesn’t need to be installed, but just integrated into a suitable host application. An example here is VSTHost. All controls are handled from the appropriate configuration window. A visual preview of a drum kit is provided, which can also be used to simulate sound based on specific components such as a pair of cymbals, three tom-toms, snare drum, hi-hat, as well as the bass drum. Interacting can either be done directly on the pad, or through a connected midi device by hitting the right notes.
