allows you to quickly scan your source code and text files, and produce reports.
Scantool is a search utility tool for searching text based files, but it has additional features especially developed for computer analysts and programmers to help them find variables, hard coded strings, input and output files, and more. It has special processing for the following languages: C/C++, Oracle PL/SQL, Dataflex, Visual Basic, dBase, COBOL, Microsoft Access, and Powerbuilder.
Scantool scans 3,000,000 lines of code a minute, performs searches on up to 220 strings, and filters out unwanted finds on up to 220 strings.
Scantool uses two input files to specify the search criteria, one containing search criteria to locate, and the other containing the strings you wish to exclude.
Scantool produces two reports: a formatted report showing all the strings found in the files, their location, and statistics; and a formatted report showing excluded strings, location, and statistics.
