This results in a cleaner looking desktop, and can actually speed up the look and feel of Windows by avoiding unnecessary redraws.
After running Expanse, you could launch a word processing program on one virtual desktop, a spreadsheet program on another, and a browser on yet another. The number of programs you can run is limited only by the amount of RAM in your computer. Expanse's own memory requirements are minimal.
The program lets you change between desktops and workspaces with a single mouse click. You can see the layout of all open windows in the Expanse window, and move windows between desktops by dragging them on the Expanse window. It is possible to have applications start on a particular desktop, and you can make certain windows automatically move so that they are always on the currently active desktop.
