The "shutdown" option shuts down the system and attempts to power it off. The "reboot" option reboots Windows. The "logoff" option terminates processes, then logs the current user out. The "force" option forcibly terminates processes that do not respond, then logs off. The poweroff option shuts down the system and then powers it off (this works with Windows NT 5 only).
