is a proxy server that provides simultaneous access to the Internet from any networked computer using only a single modem and phone line.
RideWay (formerly Internet Transit) eliminates the need to invest in additional phone lines, a network router, or multiple ISP accounts. It is installed on a PC running Windows 95 ("Server PC") and a modem connection to the Internet. All other PCs, including PCs running Windows 3.1 (if any), use TCP/IP to connect to the server PC through the LAN and have simultaneous access to perform common Internet functions. RideWay has control utilities to block access to unwelcome sites and monitor all web activity, and can be used as a remote access tool for accessing your company’s Internet connection from home.
It uses the SOCKS 4 protocol which is supported by most Internet applications. It also features dial-on-demand, DNS caching, and priority-based bandwidth management.
It comes with several diagnostic tools, including Ping, DNS lookup, and Traceroute.
