Overview
What is Omni-NFS Gateway?
allows Windows 3.x, 95 and NT machines to access remote UNIX directly across a Microsoft Windows network.
In depth
A closer look at Omni-NFS Gateway
The gateway runs on a single NT computer on a network, allowing your Windows machines to access Unix hard disks, CD drives, and other resources. Gateway enables a Windows NT server to mount remote UNIX directories over NFS, then re-share them over the Microsoft Windows Network. By doing this, any Windows user on the network can access their UNIX files, without the need for a separate installation of TCP/IP and NFS software on each individual PC. The Windows 3.x, 95 and NT PCs on the network access their remote NFS drives via the Gateway NT system. This can be done either through Network Neighbourhood or via a mapped drive.
