In depth
A closer look at NetBench
You can use as many as four different client types: DOS, 32-bit Windows, 16-bit Windows, and/or Mac OS systems. The clients pelt the server with requests for network file operations. Each client tallies how many bytes of data it moves to and from the server and how long the process takes. The client uses this information to calculate its throughput for that test mix. NetBench adds all the client throughputs together to produce the overall throughput for a server. (A Macintosh client is also available at the NetBench home page).
