A closer look at Mocha W32 LPD

It uses the standard LPD protocol (RFC 1179). Mocha W32 LPD can handle SCS/EBCDIC print jobs from an AS/400 Mainframe Computer system (5256 type). It can accept print jobs to local and network printers installed in the Windows-95/98 system.

Mocha W32 LPD features include: the ability to run in raw or page formatting mode (if the printer driver supports it); easy control of print queues, which can be operated independently; support for landscape mode; a view option for paused print jobs; the ability to use special translation tables; and the ability to use banner pages.

It can accept jobs with an unknown queue name. If it cannot find a job queue in the configuration,the default queue is used. Mocha W32 LPD can also support system orders (as LPQ) from UNIX Hosts.

This program runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar.
