In depth
"Cat" prints the contents of a file to the screen; "Chprinter*" allows you to change the printer properties; "Df" lets you find out your disk's capacity and available free space; and "Head" outputs a given number of lines from the beginning of a file or STDIN.
"Ifconfig" can list your TCP/IP network adapter settings; "Iostat*" can display any I/O statistics; "Mail" enables you to send SMTP mail; "Memcheck" displays the total and free amounts of physical and virtual memories; and "Rmsvc*" can remove a service.
"Top*" allows you to display a list of top CPU-using processes with a user specifiable refresh rate; "Wc" can count the number of lines in a file; "Write*" can send a message to another user or computer; and "Xargs" lets you process some given input in a specific way.
