In depth
A closer look at MaxLister
MaxLister is a lightweight tool especially designed for those who need to index the contents of hard drives, floppy disks, CDs, DVDs and all kinds of removable storage devices. With it you are able to create complete and detailed lists with all the items that exist on any of the previously mentioned storage types. The application has summed up a decent amount of years since its last revision, more than a decade, and has an interface that was appealing in the Windows XP days. So, as far as GUI is concerned, there’s not much to catch your attention but as far as actual practicality goes, MaxLister doesn't disappoint. Indeed it maintains a rather rigid way of doing things but it works none the less. You can easily choose a folder or drive to index, select the method for the task at hand and then export the virtual drive to your computer.
