is the Windows version of Phil Zimmerman's original and very popular encryption utility Pretty Good Privacy (PGP).
PGPfreeware integrates nicely into your work environment. You can encrypt, sign and wipe files from anywhere in Windows by simply right-clicking on a file. A tray icon makes it easy to perform PGP functions on data in the Clipboard, including encrypting, decrypting, signing and adding keys. And a small, space-saving toolbar provides access to all the functions of PGPfreeware. You can also encrypt files or folders into Self-Decrypting Archives (SDAs) that are usable for those without PGP.
For secure TCP/IP communications between your local machine and any other machine, PGPfreeware lets you run a networking tool called PGPnet.
For e-mail integration, a plug-in for Eudora is included as well as one for Microsoft Exchange and Outlook. Other features include: key management, advanced keyserver searching, secure file wiping, and the ability to define recipient groups for easily sending encrypted files to multiple recipients.
Note: PGP is only available for download for users in Canada and United States.
