SystemMonitor can monitor and notify the application whenever any of the listed events happen. It generates an "OnChange" event when any of the following events occur: file created or deleted, folder item renamed, printer or file properties changed, file attributes changed, folder created or removed, folder renamed, folder contents updated, file type association changed, network drive added or removed, removable media added or removed, network resource shared, and more.

The application is informed of the event as well as the full path of the affected item. In the case of file and folder rename events, it provides both the old and new item names.
