is a collection of ten ActiveX objects that implement CRC-32 and Adler-32 checksum algorithms and seven cryptographic hash (also known as message digest) algorithms.
The seven message-digest algorithms are: MD4 and MD5 developed by RSA Data Security, Inc.; SHA-1 developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and by the National Security Agency (NSA); RIPEMD-128, RIPEMD-160, RIPEMD-256, and RIPEMD-320 developed by Hans Dobbertin, Antoon Bosselaers, and Bart Preneel.
Features of Hash ActiveX objects include: a unified interface to the most popular checksum and cryptographic hash algorithms; optimization in assembly language for maximum performance; accessiblity from a wide range of programming languages and development environments; and a design that supports optimal performance in both single-threaded and multi-threaded environments.
