DMC2 is capable of playing the following digital audio formats: IT, MO3, MOD, MP3, MTM, S3M, WAV, and XM.

DMC2 also supports DirectSound hardware acceleration if available. DMC2 can play a MP3, MOD, and a WAV file at the same time. It can also play more than one WAV file at a time.

While a MP3, MOD, or WAV file is playing, DMC2 can retreive and set the frequency, volume, and panning.

DMC2 can get the Stream (MP3), Module (MOD), and Sample (WAV) channel level. You can display a VU Meter that shows the levels of the left and right channels.
