Alice is primarily a scripting and prototyping environment for 3D object behavior, not a 3D modeler. By writing simple scripts, Alice users can control object appearance and behavior, and while the scripts are executing, objects respond to user input via mouse and keyboard. Alice includes a collection of 3D objects and textures that you can use in your work. Alice can read many common 3D file formats, including DXF and OBJ.

Worlds created with Alice can be viewed by anyone who has installed the free Alice Plugin. A free development environment for building interactive 3D worlds, Alice is designed to bring 3D graphics to the masses. Through a process of careful design and thorough user testing, Alice makes it possible for people with little to no programming or graphics experience to build fun and interesting interactive 3D worlds. If you install Alice on Windows 95/98, you'll need to use the latest DirectX drivers. If you install it on Windows NT 4.0, you'll need Microsoft's latest NT Service Pack.
