A closer look at Secure Image

Secure Image is an image protection system for artworks and photographs which enables artists and photographers to exhibit their portfolios in quality high resolution and still have control over where the image is used.

Instead of placing a normal image onto the HTML page, the image is first encrypted and then displayed by a special Java viewer applet. The encrypted image is unusable unless it is displayed in the appropriate viewer. It is only the encrypted image that is uploadded to the server, so the master files are safe. People viewing the images are not able to right-click and copy the images, and Secure Image enables the use of high resolution images so that even if someone does a screen capture, they will only obtain the poor-quality screen resolution.

For larger portfolios or galleries, image can be encoded in batches.
