In depth

A closer look at Exploring the States

The program combines information on the states with math and directional exercises. It is divided into three sections: Exploring the States, Naming the States, and Traveling the States.

Exploring the States is a multiple-choice exercise in which you must identify the state from satellite photos, choose the capital, and calculate the state's area and population. Naming the States lets you select from several regions and name the states in the chosen region. Traveling the States lets you answer questions about major cities and geographical points by compass directions.

The program can be timed or self-paced, and scoring is provided at the end of the exercises.
