For new users, a "Site Maker" wizard lets you quickly choose a layout and a theme and then add graphics, text, and special effects. Dozens of design templates are available.
The program supports all the latest Web technologies, including DHTML, CSS, CGI, Java, JavaScript, ActiveX, and more. It even works with ODBC, so you can import database tables from Access and other ODBC data sources.
HotMetal also includes site management and editing tools, a resource manager (for accessing GIFs, applets, templates, etc.), an HTML validation tool, a link checking tool, an image editing tool (that supports animated GIFs), a personal Web server, and much more.
Other features include: drag and drop remote file editing, automatic synchronizing of site updates, the ability to import pages created in other HTML editors, a dynamic button maker, advanced scripting, macro support, and more.
